TEAL 18.5m catamaran

TEAL is Fathoms' 18.25 LOA multi-purpose catamaran workboat vessel that can be utilised extensively around the coast of the UK and Europe as a workboat, support vessel or for charter. She is capable of working up to 150 miles from shore or for close-to-shore work as required and is capable of undertaking many tasks.

TEAL's special features and gear include a four point mooring system and low speed manoeuvrability (a feature that is particularly useful when carrying out Survey tasks).

Also, specialised electronic and navigation equipment includes radar, dual frequency colour echo sounder, chart plotter, a further dual frequency survey echo sounder, differential GPS, Gyrotrac compass, auto pilot, two VHF radios - one of which is a DSC unit, GMDSS navtex receiver, a telephone/fax and a JRC weatherfax.

TEAL is powered by two Scania DI12 41M engines, each rated at 410hp. The engines drive conventional handed open propellers through twin disc MG5114 SC gearboxes to allow TEAL to achieve a maximum speed of 12 knots. Electrical power is provided by a 32 kVA genset. 12v and 24v DC power supplies are also available.
