Diving & Salvage
As part of our range of marine support services, Fathoms operate dive teams qualified to HSE Part I and II and maintains a transportable twin lock hyperbaric medical facility. Our diving services are based in Wick, Scotland and cover all aspect of underwater work including structural inspections, debris clearance, maintenance and repairs, anode replacement and other cathodic protection.
Fathoms has completed a number of salvage operations including the trawler Sterndon, Trident for the MAIB, and the motor cruiser Alpha Beta (pictured above) and provides salvage services to government, insurance underwriters and the legal profession. As part of its salvage business, Fathoms’ owns & operates inspection ROV’s that allow us to perform visual and video inspections of wrecks, harbour structures and marine artefacts.
One of the primary functions of our vessel the m/v “Teal” is to act as a stable and versatile dive support platform. The “Teal” has a dive store, compressor & workshop and a comfortable living space. The 7.5t deck winch, 8.1t deck crane and 10t A-frame gantry can all be used to aid diving and salvage operations, with the moonpool useful for safe diver entry/egress.
