Marine Contractors for River Crossing

Fathoms have recently completed a suite of hydrographic surveys on the River Wear for Sunderland City Council which included a full technical and interpretive survey report.

The range of surveys included;

• Multibeam survey of the full river using our Swath+ system to obtain Bathymetry and sidescan information, with acoustic classification of the riverbed.
• Magnetometer survey in very shallow water
• Sub-bottom Profiling at the crossing point
• Dynamic ADCP survey to assess river flow over a Spring and Neap tide
• Grab sampling with full testing of chemicals, metals and biological report with habitat mapping.

All survey works proceeded to schedule, with excellent results achieved. The ability of Fathoms to undertake all of the fieldwork in-house enabled us to produce a very comprehensive and well correlated final report.
